About Read to Raise

Read to Raise is a fundraiser hosted by the San José Public Library Foundation to raise funds for Literary Arts programs at the San José Public Library (SJPL), including Summer Learning and Winter Learning. Participants can win fun prizes at the end of the Summer.

How it Works

Read to Raise is a read-a-thon fundraiser, participants in SJPL’s Summer Learning can have their reading sponsored by friends or family. For example, a friend can commit to donating $10 for every book read by the participant.

Benefits

The benefits of Read to Raise include supporting Literary Arts with the funds raised, motivating readers to read more, and offering a chance to win cool prizes.

You can enroll in Read to Raise by clicking here.

Pre-register for Summer Learning beginning on May 6th. Read to Raise will run from May 6^th to July 31st.

Prizes

All participants will be entered into a drawing for a pair of tickets to Happy Hollow Park & Zoo, The Tech Interactive, or Winchester Mystery House!

The reader with the most funds raised will win a $100 gift card to Grubhub, CVS, OfficeMax, Petco, or Domino’s Pizza and 2 entries to the drawing.

The reader with the most donors supporting them will win a $50 gift card to Grubhub, CVS, OfficeMax, Petco, or Domino’s Pizza and 2 entries to the drawing.
